MLK Jr. Day of Service: Family Community Volunteer Event

 

Join us for a meaningful day of service that honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of community support and compassion! This special event invites families and children to make a positive impact in Charlotte.

 

  • January 20 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Ages: Children ages 5 through elementary school (accompanied by a parent or guardian)
  • Hands-on service project opportunities benefiting local community partners, including:
    • Roof Above/Room in the Inn
    • Nourish Up
    • Crisis Assistance
    • Charlotte Family Housing
    • Families Forward Charlotte

Schedule of Events:

  • 8:45 a.m.: Check in will begins with gathering activities in the Fellowship Hall
  • 9:00 a.m.: Welcome and story time to frame our day of service on MLK Day children
  • 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Children will rotate through different service project stations with their parents.
  • 12:30 p.m.: We will gather back together to conclude the day of service and dismiss folks to buy lunch from the food truck or head home.
  • Uptown Grill & Beatz food truck on site from 11:30-1:30 (open to the entire community)
